The ladies of The View (@theviewtv) debate the day’s hot topics including:

• The Yankees (@yankees) — though they lost the first game of the World Series, Whoopi urges us to stay positive because there are several games left to go — plenty of time for them to turn it around).
• Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s (@ehasselbeck) crush on Colin Powell whom she met at  the World Youth Peace Summit (a summit that brings kids from all over the world together in the name of peace).  Apparently, Barbara Walters has a crush on him too (catfight?).
• The 15-year old girl in California who was gang-raped in front of a group of people who did nothing to help her.  Bayer mentions the famous Kitty Genovese story as a similar case.  Whoopie makes a point that in this day when people tweet “on the can”, it’s horrible that people didn’t do something (even send a “911″ tweet). 
• Jon Gosselin’s new girlfriend (22 year old Hailey Glassman)  – jon throws mantrums (male tantrums) will stay with him   — while Kate can’t find a man because of her “9,000 children” (as Whoopie puts it)
• Trick or treat etiquette — What are the new rules of trick or treating?  Joy Baher would like to do away with new rules and go back to the old Italian way — just throw the kids money!

 Tomorrow is the big reveal for the costumes the ladies will wear on the Halloween episode of The View.
