Jon Hamm visited the Late Show with David Letterman last night, as charming and as handsome as usual. This appearance came with exceptional timing as Don Draper, the fictitious, philandering character Hamm plays on AMC’s Mad Men, won a vote on Askmen.com as the Most Influential Man of 2009.
The awesome thing about Jon Hamm is that whether he’s performing his usual drama roles, guest starring on 30 Rock, or just sitting and shooting the breeze with Dave Letterman, he always comes across as genuine. I consider this a great thing, because as a huge Mad Men (and Don Draper) fan, it would be a pretty big bummer if he was obnoxious or annoying in real life.
In this clip from the Late Show, Hamm explains a job that he once had before he became an actor. He tip toes around the phrasing, but he’s basically explaining how he was a set dresser for adult movies. Very funny and very interesting.
