Jon Stewart I was born with an adult head and a tiny body. Like a Peanuts character.

Oprah I finally realized that being grateful to my body was key to giving more love to myself.

Paula Abdul - ready for her talk show closeup.

Paula Abdul - ready for her talk show closeup.

Anyone who has sat sandwiched between Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson (both the plump and skinny versions of him) for 10 years has earned their opportunity to crack the talk show mic.

Paula Abdul doesn’t have time for subtlety. After a very public fallout with the producers of American Idol that led to ugly accusations of sexism and, ultimately, an abrupt end to her 10-year employment with the show via Twitter, Ms. Abdul (@paulaabdul) is looking for a new gig.  According to an interview with Us Magazine, though she surely has many options, she bluntly confessed to a possible new career path that excites her the most:

“I definitely want to do a talk show.”

She went on to say that discussions about her hosting a show are already well underway:

“It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”

Have to say — that actually sounds like a pretty good idea.  A talk show where Paula Abdul interviews everyday people going for their big break on reality tv shows (and in many cases beating the odds) seems like a “can’t lose” scenario.  However, it’s Paula Abdul.  Can she actually carry an entire show herself?  Is she too “sugary sweet” to be the talk show host who can bring some grit and truth to the sometimes dark world of questionable talent seeking their big break on tv?

Paula (probably already anticipating the naysayers) told US Magazine that, throughout everything that has happened with American Idol, she’s ready for a new challenge and will kindly kick ass meeting any and all new challenges coming her way:

“I’ve always believed that at the core I’m a survivor. There’s not one thing I’ve done that I’ve really set my mind to that I’ve failed at.”

Someone is ready for their talk show closeup.
