Are men dominating women in the area of plastic surgery? Not yet, but that could soon change. According to the study cited in this segment of “Good Morning America” (@gma) about male versus female plastic surgery, men make up 51% of plastic surgery procedures for non-evasive procedures such as laser facial procedures and botox.
Men are apparently feeling the same pressure from media (magazines where male models are perfect, tv shows where the young and fit rule, etc.).
New York plastic surgeon Dr. Derick Antell talks to “Good Morning America” about the marked increase in men getting plastic surgery and the surprising candor with which they do it now (it is no longer embarrassing and becoming commonplace).
The most common plastic surgery being performed on men today (in New York City):
- male breast reduction
- rhinoplasty
- liposuction
- botox
Nice to know men have the same insecurities as women. Now that’s what I call leveling the playing ground (who needs homegrown self esteem?).
