Angry Protesters Demand Letterman’s Dismissal for Palin Fiasco

A total of fifty people (yes, 50 individuals) somehow found each other (probably through social media – thanks Twitter) and pooled their time and efforts for one passionate cause: getting David Letterman fired for his incendiary remarks made about Sarah Palin’s daughter that lit the media (and Sarah Palin) on fire last week. Never mind that Iranians are risking their lives protesting for the future of their country and the freedoms we take for granted against an oppressive, abusive regime. These folks have found something far more evil than the Iranian regime: David Letterman.

This would be funny if it wasn’t such a ridiculous proposition to want to destroy a man’s livelihood over one joke leveraged by people who clearly have a warped sense of reality and too much time on their hands (oh hell, it’s hysterical!!).

“On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” (@gretawire) captured footage of the rally. They showed up en masse (yes I know, 50 people does not constitute “en masse” but let’s not tell them that) outside the studio in New York City where “Late Show with David Letterman” (@davidletterman) is taped and waved picket signs and chanted for Letterman to be fired while calling him a “sex offender”.

One outraged woman cuts to the point:

“He’s too old to be on that damn show anyway!! He’s not even funny. He’s a jerk!!!”

I might hire this woman to work for us as our Human Resources Manager. Fierce.

The funniest moment came when a man who actually supports David Letterman and denounces Sarah Palin spoke on camera about why it is actually Sarah Palin who needs to get a mic. In mid-sentence he looks at the microphone (labeled “Fox News“) and says:

“Sorry, I didn’t know this was Fox News.”

And walks away. I’d like to hire this man as our Publicist. Fierce to the hundredth power!

Needless to say, Letterman still has a job and, if they’re lucky, maybe a few of these protesters got a little more than the honor of being the butt of jokes for their efforts.
