Jon Stewart I was born with an adult head and a tiny body. Like a Peanuts character.

Oprah I finally realized that being grateful to my body was key to giving more love to myself.

Is Newt Gingrich the future?

Is Newt Gingrich the future?

Chris Matthews and his guests Carlos Watson, Founder of stimulist.com (@thestimulist), and Roger Simon, Chief Political Analyst of politico.com (@politico), dissect statements made by Newt Gingrich (@newtgingrich)  in a speech this week criticizing President Obama (@barackobama) for being a citizen of the world and clinging proudly and desperately to his belief that reaching out to (and understanding) other nations and peoples of the world is a bunch of nonsense.

In his speech Gingrich says:

“Let me be clear.  I am not a citizen of the world.  I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous.  There is in fact no circumstance under which I would like to be a citizen of North Korea, Zimbabwe, Cuba or Russia.”

Matthews’ question to his panel (”Is Newt Gingrich a contender for lead of the Republican Party?“) answers itself. There isn’t much of a debate here because everyone agrees that Gringrich has lost his everloving, xenaphobic mind.

But Carlos Watson has an interesting spin on Gingrich.  He believes that with Gingrich being so vocal (and so off-base and out-of-touch with Americans), a Republican revival is moving into a new phase segueing into Mitt Romney and other people like Jedd Bush coming forward (that’s right… Bush 3 – like a horror movie with limitless sequels).

Roger Simon believes Gingrich would be a formidable opponent to Obama and a great candidate (if he were more human) but he has “more baggage than Sampsonite”.

So, is Gingrich the future of the republican party?  Matthews isn’t as nice about it.  He calls Gingrich’s idealogy a continuation of the “freedom fries” fiasco, xenaphobic and anti-world before landing the following punch on the former speaker of the house:

“He’s too Mephistopheles-looking to be a leader…  If that’s what’s going to lead the Republican party out of the wilderness, maybe they should stay in the wilderness ’cause he looks like the enemy!”

Are those buzzards I see circling around the political carcass of Newt Gingrich?
